Everyone talks about our civic-minded heritage, our unique building and our function rooms. What you may not know is how good the food and service is at The Harbert Center. Our exclusive caterer prepares and serves some of the finest food in Birmingham and has been doing so since The Harbert Center opened in 1986. Perhaps best known for their breakfast and luncheon buffet, the chef and kitchen staff can design a menu to suit any taste. From morning muffins to upscale receptions to elegant plated dinners, the food at The Harbert Center will not disappoint.

 

Outside Catering Policies, as of 5/10/2011

No outside caterers to be booked while other events are in the process of happening, or while prep and set up is going on for other upcoming events.

Required Licenses: Business License, Certificate of Liability Insurance, Current Serv Safe Certificate

Fees

These fees are applicable for non-profit groups that have received approval for donated beverages and/or food items.

Kitchen Rental: $175.00 to cover equipment use, dish machine, one dishwasher for groups of 100 or less. Anything over 100 would require another dishwasher at a rate of $14.50 per hour daytime and $17.50 per hour after 3:00 pm.

Service ware fee: $5.00 per person

Management fee: Front of house manager fee $200.00. If the kitchen is being used an additional management fee of $200.00 will apply.

All other staffing fees, for servers, bartenders, and kitchen:

$14.50 per hour, up to 3:00pm after 3:00pm $17.50 per hour

Please note the hourly fees will include any pre setup times, breakdown and clean up times. These times will be based on how large an event is and all that is involved with it. The Director of Foodservices will determine the hours required.
